Situated on the main thoroughfare through the town, near the Ayuntamiento (Town Hall). Parking is available in nearby side street(s).
Ramon’s restaurant was first opened in the 1950’s, as Los Peone´s in the cellar below. Even now, locals refer to the restaurant as “El bar de los Peones” (Peone’s Bar) or “Los Ramones”. It was in this cellar where the fishermen from el Mar Menor (little sea) met each other to have lunch and it was here that they taught “Los Ramones” to prepare the famous dish of “Caldero” (type of risotto with fish).
Today, the third generation ” Los Ramones” are still presenting these dishes taught by their elders whilst offering a warm and friendly place to meet and enjoy the best produce from the region. The menu is varied offering shellfish, seafood, meat & poultry dishes of the region, along with some delicious home-made sweets. Ramon’s is an extremely popular restaurant so booking a table is highly recommended in summer months and sundays – or just stop off for some tapas and enjoy an impromptu Spanish lesson from the locals!
